The people behind the sanctuary
Meet the Team
Different journeys. A shared purpose.
Meet the people behind The Floating Sound Sanctuary, each bringing their own experience and approach while sharing the same intention — creating a welcoming space where you can float, relax and enjoy a little time away from the everyday.

Founder · The Floating Sound Sanctuary
Jade
Jade is the founder of The Floating Sound Sanctuary, bringing together her love of wellbeing, water and creating experiences that give people a chance to truly switch off from everyday life.
The idea began with a simple vision — to create something a little different. A peaceful experience where guests could float comfortably on the water, surrounded by sound, with nothing expected of them other than to relax.
From finding beautiful pools and spa venues to bringing together a wonderful team of sound practitioners, Jade has built The Floating Sound Sanctuary around creating experiences that feel welcoming, comfortable and accessible — whether it’s your first sound bath or something you already love.
Behind the scenes, Jade organises each venue and session, prepares the floating beds and all those little details that help transform a swimming pool into a calming sanctuary for the evening.
One of her favourite parts has been watching the community around the sanctuary grow and seeing guests return for another float, often bringing friends and family with them.
Away from the sanctuary, Jade is a busy mum of four, and knows only too well how rare it can be to find time to truly stop and switch off. That’s part of what makes creating these moments of calm for others so meaningful to her.
For Jade, The Floating Sound Sanctuary is about more than the sound itself. It’s about giving people permission to stop for a while, get comfortable, close their eyes and simply enjoy being in the moment.
“Creating space for you to float, relax and restore.”

Sound Practitioner · Movement. Sound. Therapy
April
April is a sound healing practitioner, yoga teacher and movement facilitator, with a love for nature, connection and helping people find a little space for themselves.
She holds an MSc in Psychology of Mental Health & Wellbeing and has also completed an intensive year-long Sound Healing Practitioner course, accredited by the International School of Holistic Medicine. She is currently training as an integrative therapist, bringing her interest in emotional wellbeing into her wider work.
Based in Knowle, April offers sound sessions from her narrowboat, alongside classes, events and retreats across the UK and abroad.
At The Floating Sound Sanctuary, she shares the sounds of gongs, crystal bowls and other instruments, creating a peaceful setting for you to settle into your float and take a break from the everyday.
We’re so pleased to have April as part of our practitioner team and to share these moments on the water with her.

Sound Practitioner · Astara Alchemy
Abbey
Abbey brings her love of holistic wellbeing to The Floating Sound Sanctuary, sharing sound experiences that invite you to slow down, reconnect with yourself and enjoy a little time just for you.
Through her business, Astara Alchemy, she offers sound and crystal therapies, Reiki and oracle readings, bringing together her passion for spiritual wellbeing and creating meaningful moments of pause.
Alongside her sessions, Abbey creates handcrafted products, including crystal-infused sprays, incense and temple anointing oils, designed to accompany meditation and personal rituals.
We’re delighted to have Abbey as part of our practitioner team, helping create those peaceful moments on the water where you can get comfortable, close your eyes and simply enjoy the sounds around you.

Sound Practitioner · Sunshine Soul Therapies
Keira
You might know Keira as an Acute Medical Sister, but outside of nursing, you’ll find her doing something a little different…
Keira is also a qualified sound practitioner and the person behind Sunshine Soul Therapies.
Her love for sound healing began in Nepal, where she travelled to train in the traditional practice of sound healing. Surrounded by the Himalayas, practising with Tibetan singing bowls and immersing herself in the culture, it was a truly surreal experience.
It was during her training that Keira discovered just how much of a difference sound healing could make to how someone feels. She loved creating a space where people could slow down, switch off and simply feel at ease — and she knew this was something she wanted to bring home with her.
She’s a big believer that we all have our own sunshine within us — sometimes life just gets busy, and we need a little space to reconnect with it.
When she’s not working or playing her bowls, you’ll usually find Keira somewhere outdoors — travelling, hiking, camping, exploring mountains or enjoying the simple things in life.
We’re so excited to have Keira joining us at The Floating Sound Sanctuary and can’t wait for guests to experience one of her sound journeys on the water.
